In March 2023, Beacon Mart was invited to participate a conference hosted by Humane Society International to promote cage-free egg movement & animal welfare.
Internationally, the guiding principle of animal welfare emphasizes “Five Freedoms” for animals:
• Freedom from hunger and thirst by providing ready access to fresh water and food that maintains full
health and vigour;
• Freedom from discomfort by providing an appropriate environment including shelter and a comfortable
resting area;
• Freedom from pain, injury or disease by prevention or rapid diagnosis and treatment;
• Freedom to express normal behaviour by providing sufficient space, proper facilities, and company of
the animal's own kind;
• Freedom from fear and distress by ensuring conditions and treatment that prevent mental suffering.

In late 2023, Beacon Mart stepped forward for a better understanding with an exploration visit to Europe to evident the cage free & animal welfare practice by world leaders. Having this study trip well organized by Humane Society International , various discussion, learning and input of knowledge were provided by global breeders, world class poultry equipment manufacturers, local top tiers farmers and university experts.
An eye-opening visit and vast room for Beacon Mart’s way forward in improving its capability to better serve our trusted consumers.
Moving forward, Beacon Mart remains committed to produce, procure, distribute and retail natural and healthy products. We scrutinize, inspect, and make available high quality and healthy food through our farm to plate model for your peace of mind when shopping with us.
Last but not least, as a step forward to loud and embrace our learning, Beacon Mart has committed that not later than 2030, to also produce/procure eggs exclusively from cage-free hens to be distributed and retailed in our outlets. As we progress, Beacon Mart will provide further information to allow our valued customers to better understand and promote the course towards better welfare chicken and cage free eggs.
